I'm not sure exactly how this will go down but not all countries are like ours. They are able to and will do as they wish.

I'm still unsure of how sharing posts will be deemed as libel to their government. There's a lot of gray to this law, I feel like it is at their discretion.

Re: Philippines Cyber Crime Law: Facebook ‘like’ could land you in jail.

Well said, I can't believe this is even happening to them. I haven't seen anything about this on the news, I'm glad I ran across this news article on the Internet.

I don't know how they expect to enforce this law and how they find it acceptable to put people in jail for this.

Re: Philippines Cyber Crime Law: Facebook ‘like’ could land you in jail.

I think there may be a floor to this logic. I think possibly it could not be as it's not public but to a select group of people, namely their friends.

Links are here:

http://www.gov.ph/2012/09/1...
http://www.interaksyon.com/...

Re: Philippines Cyber Crime Law: Facebook ‘like’ could land you in jail.

It never ceases to amaze me what governments will try to do. I just thought of the Twix commercial. The evil is cloaked in kindness! Think about it. By the way, I have just one question, Would you eat in a restaurant where their chef will not even eat the food? Congress will NOT even use HusseinCare because congress has the best care available...FOR LIFE. Guess who pays for it? The taxpayer of course which also pays their salary, again, FOR LIFE even if elected for only one term. Every year or so they come out with a new $300-$800 product and expect everyone to upgrade. Honestly, upgrading is probably the best bet because after a year with each of the iPhones I've had, it starts acting funny. Almost like they are made not to last.

Re: What you should know before you upgrade to iOS 7

It's too early to tell where developers will take iOS 7. Personally the feature I want out of iOS 7, AirDrop, is not available on my two year old iPad 2. Android is looking better every day. I understand people love the Nexus 7. If I am forced to upgrade I'm not going to reward Apple. Really, a two year old iPad is obsolete?

Re: USPS Mail Scams

Hi Pat, thanks for sharing. You can go to http://ehome.uspis.gov/fcse... and make a claim. Although, it is very hard and costly to track down these scammers. When it comes to the Postal Service I would think they would look at this as a threat to their company and do some investigating.

Hopefully our system will find a way to help protect us against crimes like this.

Re: USPS Mail Scams

I received the 'courier cann't ' on the 17th and resisted opening the attachment! Did you agree to an update or an install?

All the other computers should be fine. Since it wasn't connected to a workgroup, there is no reason to believe they are infected from the same virus. Your computer may not be infected either though. They might have tried to capture information from the computer. What happened after the link was clicked?

Re: USPS Mail Scams

Unfortunately a household member opened this email and clicked the link. I'm guessing that computer is now infected (Norton missed it). My question is in regards to the other PC computers on my home network.

The infected computer is new to the house and though it was plugged in to the network, I never connected it to a workgroup (via workgroup password ID). Do I need to reformat all three additional computers in my house because they were connected?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Re: No End for Endpoints

I got a webcam that is attached with my dell laptop, is it also risky or only the ones we buy separately? anyway from online opinions, I found eyebloc is the best solution. should I buy it? When something looks suspicious in an email, always mouse over the title bar to see if there is a different browser address. Or even right-click and view source to see if the code is showing up something way different than the page. If you are not very technical, you can always call USPS, they are well aware of these types of scams. Good luck to you!
